There is often a public expectation that professional footballers have to start their own businesses, invest in certain franchises or further their education in order to maintain the lifestyle they live after their football career.
While the above-mentioned options are beneficial, not everyone is fortunate to follow these routes and instead turn to alternative solutions that have a much bigger impact on improving the circumstances of our country.
This is the case for former Bafana Bafana, and Mamelodi Sundowns player Lungisani Ndela.
Social media users were recently shocked to see what the former footballer was up to following his retirement from the sport. This comes after pictures emerged on X (formerly Twitter) which shows the veteran happily enjoying being in his brand-new career as a prison warden.
Taking to X one user shared a few pictures of Lungisani posing with a colleague. The caption stated:
“Life after football for Lungisane Ndlela. Sometimes you just have to get a job. Not everyone will find success in business and investments.”

Meanwhile, those who entered the comment section praised the former footballer for the important work he does in making our country a better place.
Others meanwhile saluted him, adding that he could have gone in downward spiral like so many others, instead, he chose an honest career.
Well done to him, he picked himself up, unlike many football players who feel sorry for themselves and do nothing to improve their situation after their foodball demise. pic.twitter.com/Z1sGj0BgeU

“He chose to retire to take care of his family. He never suffered or fell on hard times like many stars who leave to find work and pursue other careers,” the friend adds
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old still remains an integral part of the game and often offers his insights about the game to sport and broadcasting stations.
