After enjoying a brief visit to Cape Town last month, American rapper Rick Ross is set to pay mzansi another visit – this time to perform.
His upcoming return will see him performing at this year’s Durban Music Festival which takes place on the 3 May at the Hollywood Bets Kings Park Stadium.
Speaking to the news and entertainment publication TimesLive, Rick expressed his excitement ahead of his performance.
“I am beyond excited to be back in South Africa. The energy, the passion, and the vibrant culture are truly inspiring. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the local music culture and connect with my fans,” he said.
Last month the rapper along with some staff members visited the Mother City where they immersed themselves in the beautiful surroundings which was accompanied by a breathtaking sea view along with the Twelve Apostles, Lion’s Head, and Table Mountains as their backdrop.
While here he made full use of the scenery as he was later seen filming a music video and also did an interview with the reality star, now-turned podcaster Yolande Mukondi.
Meanwhile, Gregory Wings who through his company Blue Screen Entertainment was responsible for bringing the rapper back to South Africa, described the occasion as being “incredible”.
“The Durban Fest is not just a music festival; it’s a celebration of our shared humanity. By blending the vibrant cultures of music in South Africa and African American music, we aim to showcase that we are one people united through music and culture,” he added.
He believes that this event will serve as a powerful reminder of the connections we share and the importance of coming together in harmony.
Meanwhile, the festival will showcase the talents of several local performers, some of which include DJ Tira, Mawhoo, Blxckie and many more.
