With the 11 March officially marking one year since his passing Lara Langeveld, the mother to amapiano artist Costa Titch still finds herself left in the dark regarding how her son passed away.
Costa, real name Costantinos Tsobanoglou passed away on 11 March 2023 during a performance at the Ultra Music Festival which was held in Johannesburg last year.
Video footage circulating the internet at the time showed the 28-year-old performing to his popular hit song Big Flexa when he suddenly collapsed, falling off the stage and was declared dead later that evening.
Speaking to news and entertainment publication The South African, Lara revealed that she still has no details on the outcome of the toxicology report.
“It’s tough for me not to know what happened to Costa. Hopefully, I can get some answers. I need those answers.
“I know my son. My son was no addict, and he definitely did not have epilepsy. He was a healthy person.”
Meanwhile, she told the publication that she strongly believes that foul play was involved in his sudden passing, explaining that he never had epilepsy – as this was the narrative after his death.
While it said that Costa died two hours after his collapse, Lara questions why he was not taken to Baragwaneth Hospital which was much closer to the venue that the event was held as this could have saved his life.
“I accept God took my son, but I cannot accept how he died. What broke me was hearing my son was pleading for help, and that has scarred me for life. I know this country has a high crime rate, but I still want justice for my son.
“I highly suspect someone hurt my son as he was not on chronic medication, and he was healthy.”
To celebrate his life one year after his passing many social media users took to X to pay tribute to the late musician.
