Season three of the Durban-based reality show, Real Housewives of Durban introduced us to many new faces while some of the popular faces did not return. Among those who graced our television screens was Dumisani Ndlazi nicknamed Rough Diamond (RD) by his lover Nonku Williams.
RD seemed to tick all the right boxes as not only was he displaying his love for the mother of three, but he was generous too as he gifted her with a brand new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 SUV and later asked her to marry him.
It later emerged that RD wasn’t what everyone thought he was as news that he scammed the reality show star emerged soon after their breakup.
Before meeting RD, Nonku ran a successful construction company which she started almost two decades ago. When asked at the season three re-union of the allegations that RD scammed her, an emotional Nonku refused to comment on the matter citing that she wasn’t comfortable talking about it as the matter had been escalated further.
Ready to spill the beans, the RHOD star shared with ZiMoja:
“That man scammed me! He stole material from the site worth R300 000.” She also introduced him to her suppliers and let down her guard. “I was in love. I mixed my business with pleasure, and I regret it but I also learned my lesson. I am here and I have moved on.”
Before that, she had shared with the same publication that she was ready to date adding:
“I learned my lesson, to keep things more private. I know, I will fall in love again. Love is a beautiful thing. After that breakup, I told myself that nothing would ever break me. People judged me and I learned my lesson.”
The publication also tried to contact RD who had gone live on social media after RHOD season three’s reunion to refute the claims that he had scammed Nonku.
Shocked to still be asked the question, he was quoted saying:
“I have moved on from the relationship and she needs to do the same. I still maintain my innocence. I never scammed Nonku and she knows.”
He added, “There is no case that was opened. I have never even taken money from her. I gave her money, I paid for everything and I supported her business.”
