South African actor Hlomla Dandala is set to take over the role of Caesar, previously played by Zolisa Xaluva on eTV’s Smoke and Mirrors drama series.
The news was shared by television show host and entertainment commentator Phil Mphela recently on his X, previously known as Twitter.
Hlomla is popular for portraying many big roles, including his recent role as Zweli Dikana on Mzansi Magic’s The River.
It was earlier reported that, Zolisa had been sacked from his Caesar role with the show’s production team refuting the claims.
Hlomla’s new character portrays a leader of a group called The Unholy Trinity which is made up of powerful, respected businessmen. Caesar’s ruthless nature sees him getting his hands dirty whenever necessary.
After Zolisa exited the role, he went on to secure another lead role in a new eTV drama series Code 13 that will air its first episode on Tuesday, April 16th.
Sharing Caesar’s replacement news on his X, Phil said:
“Hlomla Dandala’s debut as Caesar Dandala has taken over the role of Caesar on the telenovela, Smoke and Mirrors. He will make his first on-screen appearance in the role on Tuesday, April 16th 2024, in the show’s second season. #etvSmokeAndMirrors are weeknights at 21h00 on @etv.”
