Businessman Lekau Sehoana recently launched a new range called Drip Claws giving a moving speech on his troubled company that has created a lot of jobs for many people in mzansi.
In the event that was attended by A-listers such as Cassper Nyovest and DJ Zinhle, the businessman also touched on the 20 million debt that the company is embroiled in and expressed that they managed to save the company from liquidation.
Speaking at the event about his sneaker company, he shared that every cent the company was started with came from their own pockets as they never went to banks for loans, nor gotten investors.
He added that they pumped millions of rands into the five-year-old business to open shops and make it marketable.
Noting that he has a documentary in the works, Lekau promised an indent analysis of the Drip business brand.
Touching on the scandal of the 20 million, the businessman shared that the amount was nothing compared to where they come from as a business as they come from “hell”.
He also responded to an article that claimed he couldn’t sleep saying, “I sleep so well at night, knowing that we able to actually not go down.” Not going in much on the 20 million allegations that are currently an ongoing investigation, he said, “We are still here, we are still standing.”
Lekau biggest dream was to build his mom a house who had been living in a shack and he managed to do that in 2019. He added that he has achieved what he has always wanted to achieve after staying in a shack for over 32 years.
The Drip boss also shared that after speaking to the company MD they decided on a plan to give back to the hundreds of people they employ and are currently working on a profit share plan which will see employees being beneficiaries of the revenue the brand makes.
He continued, ” From a personal level I am fine and not even financially or anything but as far as dreams can actually take you. I’m okay, I’m actually content with my life. I’m just trying to contribute to a lot of people that we actually employ and work with.”
As a black employer, Lekau mentioned the importance of treating workers in a decent manner adding:
“My mom was a domestic worker and she actually hated working for black people because she was ill-treated most of the times. I don’t want to be that type of a boss.WATCH: Lekau Sehoana at the Drip Claws launch.
