After apologising to her fans for her online dispute with DJ Shimza, poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai has done a 180 and retracted her apology.
The online argument between Ntsiki and DJ Shimza stemmed from Ntsiki suggesting that Grammy winner Tyla is an industry plant (an artist who presents themselves as independent, however, behind the scenes, they have financial support from corporations, explains music publication Loud and Quiet).
Accusations and disses flew across the air from both parties, which then resulted in Ntsiki sending out an apology on X (formerly Twitter) not to Shimza but to her fans.
“I see that I am in the papers for the wrong reasons again, and I’d like to apologise to my audience for partaking in an engagement that is not expected of me. I should be a better human being,” said Ntsiki. “Next time, I should – and must – just ignore engagements that are not vibrating on the frequency that I would like my audience to engage in.”
Ntsiki concluded her apology video by also apologising to her stakeholders and thanked everyone for their support, adding, “I know I can be provocative, and I should also take responsibility for how I trigger people to behave in manners. So, I’m going to be better.”

Almost three hours later, Ntsiki shared another video on X stating that she was taking back her apology. “You don’t deserve it,” laughed the outspoken personality.
