Springboks First Lady Rachel Kolisi recently shared a fun fact about herself that some would find unexpected.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the mother of two revealed that “many moons ago” she used to participate in the sport of drag racing cars (Oxford Learner’s Dictionaries describes drag racing as “a sport in which powerful, specially adapted cars race against each other over a short distance.”).
Rachel noted that there was a purpose for her sharing the fact about herself – a friend she made during her racing days was shot and robbed.
“@Frankfunkyfotos became a great friend on the track. There weren’t many girls (if at all) and I was always super nervous. He was always super supportive!” said Rachel. “I have just seen on a Facebook post @Frankfunkyfotos was shot and all his equipment and money were stolen. If you or anyone you know are able to help at all, please reach out to him.”
Rachel then proceeded to share a few more pictures of herself as a young racer. Take a look:
Currently, Rachel finds herself off the track and in the streets of Paris as she and her family made the big move to the European city last year after her husband and Springboks captain, Siya Kolisi, joined the French rugby union team, Racing 92.
