Idols SA is reportedly coming to an end after 21 years of entertainment.
According to Phil Mphela, an entertainment commentator who announced about the latest development of the show on his Twitter timeline saying that it has been canceled.
He says the show has been renewed for the 19th season which will happen this year, but that will be the final season.
“After 21 years, IdolsSA will be bowing out of our screens. The show has been renewed for a 19th season, which will be the show’s final season,” he wrote on his Twitter timeline.

There have been petitions to cancel the show several times due to different reasons, and it’s finally coming to an end.
The SA Idols confirmed on their Twitter page that it is indeed coming to an end.

Judges Randall Abrahams and Unathi Nkayi’s contracts were not renewed for season 18. They were replaced with artists Thembi Seete and rapper-producer JR Bogopa alongside Proverbs and Somizi Mhlongo, who returned after taking time off from the show in 2021 following serious allegations of physical abuse.
