Actress and news reader Palesa Madisakwane recently trended on social media after she shared a video burning a wraparound cloth worn by sangomas and those in the process of training to be one.
In the video Palesa prayed denouncing the spirit of ubungoma (traditional healing practice) and cursed the bad spirits around her.
Social media users voiced their opinions after seeing the video with some saying she was an attention seeker and should have done that in private while some praised her for her bravery.
The former Ashes to Ashes actress much recently shared a radio interview she did where she addressed social media trolls and how they were affecting her.
In the interview, Palesa shared that the media industry teaches you to have thick skin. She also pointed out that she is not bothered what people say.
“If you’ve been in this industry for so long you develop a thick skin, I don’t even look at them. I think maybe you need to know who you are in Christ, like I know my position. I don’t care what power you can think you come with I know my God is bigger than your God. You can come with your snakes you can come with your mfenes (chimpanzees) I know my position in Christ, and I know the power that’s in me.”
The actress added humour commenting:
“Instead, I bless them, and I ask them to repent.”
The actress who is clearly not bothered by those who were lambasting her also added that if she’s given another chance she’d do it again, on public platforms.
“I am going to do it again if given another chance. Like I said, I will do it again publicly, unashamed.”
Sharing the video on Instagram, Palesa captioned it:
“🐍🐒 I’m not moved I’m not shaken because I know my position In Christ Jesus 🙏🏾 i still say JESUS IS LORD 🎙️.”
