Big Zulu and his Nkabi Records artists were reportedly forced to postpone their Durban July performance on Sunday due to poor ticket sales. The event – named the Inkabi Nation Sunday Invasion – would have taken place at The Warehouse in Durban, and included popular acts such as Sjava and Makhadzi.
Nkabi Records artists who would have performed included Lwa Ndlunkulu, Mduduzi Ncube, Siya Ntuli, and Xowla.
Big Zulu had even posted about the event on his Instagram page.

According to ZiMoja, a source close to the situation said that Inkabi made the decision to “postpone” because tickets were not moving as they had anticipated. There were also numerous events occurring which could have led to the group postponing the event. Those events included Durban Rocks, Cotton Fest, Max’s Lifestyle, and Anywhere In Your City.
Stating that the line-up of events was confusing for the Durban market, the source also mentioned, “It was a busy weekend; people were spoilt for options.”
They added, “The Durban crowd is hard to please, I don’t think they relate to the likes of Makhadzi as we do around Gauteng and Limpopo. They still love Gqom. Maybe if they had mixed artists.”
Another source told ZiMoja, “People plan their lives around Durban July and pre-parties that are happening for the July weekend, not music concerts.”
