The African Grammy winners gala dinner was held on Friday night at the Four Seasons Westcliff hotel and celebrities, music industry professionals, and invited guests dressed to the nines.
Having won the Best Global Music Performance Grammy at the 65th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode, and Wouter Kellerman were the guests of honor at this prestigious event.
Zakes penned downed a thank you post which read; “Thanks so much to the Grammy CEO @harveymasonjr, Grammy President @panosapanay, chairman of Arena Holdings Tshepo Mohloele, Minister of Sports, Art and Culture @nathimthethwa_sa and CEO of GridWorldwide @ad_mski or attending our African Grammy Winners Gala dinner last Friday. Amongst the attendees was Minister of Arts & Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, president of The Recording Academy Panos Panay, CEO of the Recording Academy Harvey Mason Jr and Arena Holdings chairperson, Tshepo Mahloele.
Anele Mdoda served as host. Sho Madjozi and rapper Nasty C entertained the crowd as the Grammy Award winners each delivered a performance.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, CEO of the Recording Academy Harvey Mason Jr had this to say: “I’ve been blown away by the talent, and the scene and the vibe here around music, around entertainment and culture. I’ve been impressed with all the people I’ve met and listened to and I’ve told everyone that I’ve met, I’m here to learn , to listen as the CEO of the academy. We know a few things about music, about the show, about giving back to the industry but there’s a lot of things around the world that we don’t know.”
