KwaZulu-Natal-born singer and songwriter Naledi Aphiwe dropped her first single last week Friday. The 17-year-old gained recognition after a video of her singing a song with her classmates gained online popularity and was later sampled by American singer, Chris Brown.
Before the song dropped, many artists in the industry congratulated her, including Babes Wodumo who took to Instagram and shared pictures of herself and Aphiwe and wrote, “Congratulations baby wami.”

A social media user shared a video of himself with a duet video and wrote, “What we did with Naledi Aphiwe here will won’t be unforgettable.”
Another Facebook user wrote, “Her first single. Oh guys I’m so excited yho.”
Many TikTok users took to the app and shared their videos while they used the song as their sound. One TikToker posted a screen recording of the song and wrote, “Thank you for the beautiful song.”
