The Scorpion Kings booking fee still seems to be on internet users’ minds after it was revealed that duo DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small charge between R200-300k for a gig.
In 2022, a screenshot breaking down the duo’s booking fee went viral causing many internet users to question the huge costs regarding the fee. According to the screenshot shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), event organisers had to pay the duo R200k for indoor performances and R300k for outdoor performances excluding accommodation and transport for the pair.
The duo known for their amapiano sounds have gained massive popularity among internet users worldwide meaning that their booking fee would be appropriate given their discography in the music industry.
My question is the event organisers will make a profit of how much ? 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/C1MOciSSzU

Many X users debunked the reasons behind the booking fee, adding that, because of this people have to spend lots of money on festival tickets.
One user said:
For both of them i think this is a fair fee heh Doc🤣🤣🤣. Babes Wodumo was charging R120K alone. This is Kabza and Maphorisa for R200K is fair 🤣🤣🤣.

That’s why we buy general tickets for a ridiculous amount these days.

One X user added that if you aren’t prepared to pay this much money for an amapiano gig you should stop as they are known to charge high prices.
If you’re a promoter and you can’t make that money back from an amapiano gig, you should close shop 🤞🏾
But those fees are ridiculous for a local gig.
