If Thabang Moleya directed it it will hit, as the Netflix film Lobola Man receives a good online reaction.
Lobola Man follows a man named Ace Ngubeni, played by Lawrence Maleka, who eventually starts a business where he negotiates on behalf of his clients to persuade families to lower the bride price sought. Unfortunately, things change for him when he meets one of his most introverted and quirky clients, Duke, played by Sandile Mahlangu. He eventually falls in love with his fiancee, Zandile, played by Kwanele Mthethwa, and is joined by a talented yet comedic cast that includes Nimrod Nkosi, Thembise Matu, Primo Baloyi, Obed Baloyi, Sello Ramolahloane, Standile Nkosi, and Letuka Dlamini.
Lobola negotiations are known to be a big part of the African culture where the groom has to pay a bride price to his potential wife’s house as a way to say thank you to the family for raising her and unite both families.
This new movie received a rather positive response from internet users given that Netflix South Africa never misses when it comes to casting actors for new roles.

Incredible production, styling, cinematography. An ode to great South African film that isn’t centred on violence or Apartheid. Well done @Teabag_Moleya #LobolaMan pic.twitter.com/6jViFWqG0C
