Kaizer Chiefs veteran Itumeleng Khune has received mixed reactions following his recent football attendance at a local football match.
This weekend Soweto giants Orlando Pirates faced Baroka FC in a Nedbank Cup match which took place at the Orlando Stadium.
While the game brought smiles to the faces of thousands of Buccaneers fans who were glad to have witnessed their team recording a 3-1 victory over their rivals, fans of Kaizer Chiefs were left disappointed.
This comes as the event attracted one of their most decorated players, Itumeleng Khune, who gladly clothed himself in black in support of Kaizer Chiefs arch rivals, Orlando Pirates.

Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old goal-keeper who was recently honoured for 25-years of service to Amakhosi shared a gallery of pictures of himself and his wife Sphelele attending the sporting event.
Despite being clothed in all black, Sphelele made it clear that their loyalty continues to remain with Kaizer Chiefs.
She captioned her post, “Accompanied hubby to work today and you can already tell which team I was supporting #netbankcup … always a Khosi for life though.”

Meanwhile, the former international goalkeeper entered the comment section as well writing. This after a user asked whether he was now an Orlando Pirates supporter. In response, he wrote: “All day everyday brother.”
This later prompted many to enter the comment section to share their thoughts.
Unconvinced by Sphelele’s post, one person was more than happy to welcome the couple as supporters of the opposition team, writing: “I feel in my heart that you’re pirates supporter.”
Another vowed that he would continue remaining loyal to the former goalkeeper. “My skipper. The best. I will follow you bafo all the way. One day we will meet up. You inspire me everyday.”
However, not everyone was impressed. One user expressed disappointment in the former Bafana star, highlighting that he was a “traitor”.
Since his 25 years of service celebration, Itumeleng has not yet featured in another game for Kaizer Chiefs. Despite this, the club previously revealed that they are eager to gain his services as a mentor to younger players.
