Despite all the troubles he has recently experienced in his professional life, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has proven that having a strong partner at your side is the key to surviving any obstacle life throws your way.
The 36-year-old football veteran has recently taken time to show appreciation to the woman whom he described as his “partner in crime” Sphelele Khune, as the mother of two recently celebrated her birthday.
In a heart-warming post along with a series of pictures, Itumeleng took to his Instagram story and wrote:
“Happiest birthdays to my partner in crime, my forever love, and my favourite cuddle partner. May your day be as cute and as lovely as you are.”
Since officially tying the knot in a traditional wedding in 2019, the pair seemed to have formed a formidable duo and share two daughters, Lesedi Ziyanda and Amogelang Zenande.

While the two have a 10-year age gap, many criticised their relationship believing that they will not last, however, this has never been something that Sphelele gave much attention to.
Responding to a fan’s comment on Instagram in the year 2020, she wrote:
“We are quietly watching them. They said ”it won’t last, I am giving them six months”, but look at us now, married and expecting.”
While Itumeleng’s recent struggles have seen him being suspended from long-time club, Kaizer Chiefs, her lifelong commitment to stick by his side in good times and bad have been at the top of her list.
