Nhlamulo Baloyi, famously known as Lavida Nota is a man confident enough to boldly share his greatness with the world regardless of who he puts down in the process.
Due to his outspoken nature, the former music manager and current director at The Orchard, a Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary, has had clashes with many people in the entertainment industry and the government.
While visiting journalist Promise Makunyane’s podcast, Own Narrative, Nota took jabs at Grammy Award-winning deejay, Black Coffee, who he claims wasn’t greater than him.
In a video clip of the podcast shared on X, (formerly known as Twitter) by user @ThisIsColbert, Nota noted:
“Think about this, not even Black Coffee can get his wife a Summer (referring to Summer Awards). I’m just saying.”
As Promise tried to respond to the statement about Black Coffee’s soon-to-be wife, Nota interrupted saying:
“I’m not talking about him, I am taking about me. I am talking about that I can do, like the mental work that I have done. Imagine to work at the level, imagine the pressure. ”
He continued saying:
“I’ve got more Summers (awards) than Black Coffee. I understand you’re trying to compare right now, I’ve got Grammy Award winner’s in my signings, artists that I’ve signed that have won Grammies. My signatures is the reason they are superstars today, he has never done that.”
Praising himself for his greatness, he continued:
“I am on another level, I’m 33-years-old.”
Promise proceeded to ask if Nota was implying that he is on a higher level than the We Dance Again hitmaker and he responded by saying that he is not just on a higher level with Black Coffee but everyone in music ever.
He added:
“I’m talking about outselling Brenda Fassie, I’m telling you I have the two best selling songs in South African music history, number one and two.”
He finished off by saying that if he were to die, there can never be an artist or manager with a number one and two selling songs ever.
[FLEXING] “I’ve got more SAMAs than Black Coffee, relax!😭
I’ve got GRAMMY award winners in my signings, artists that I’ve sigbed that have won GRAMMYs.
Not even Black Coffee can get his wife a SAMA,”😂NOTA outsold Brenda Fassie?😳😳
