Well-known musician Tumelo Manyoni, popularly known as JazziQ has denied the allegations made which have implicated him in a case of sexual assault.
This comes after YFM content producer Ngcebo Mcobothi took to social media claiming that she was sexually harassed by the musician.
The incident is said to have taken place on 23 May ahead of his and Robot Boii’s interview with the radio station, where he and Ngcebo were allegedly in close contact with one another.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote:
“This guy literally grabbed me by the waist trying to kiss me ngenkani (by force). The way I had to push him away from me. Lapho we’re in a lift!”
While she initially hesitated to reveal the name of the artist she was referring to, continuous enquiries from fans online forced her to reveal his identity, to which she revealed it was JazziQ.
Meanwhile, the renowned DJ and producer has been on a mission to clear his name and as a result, his management has recently released a statement in response to the allegations made against him.
“Mr JazziQ is many things – a young man who, like all young men his age, parties and gets involved in romantic relationships with women. What he is not, is a perpetrator of violence of any form, against women.
The statement continued: “It is not an accident of history that he has never before been accused of any sexual misconduct. It is a clear reflection of his belief in the importance of consent – which he understands has to be voluntary and importantly, can be withdrawn at any point.”
With YFM confirming that they have no CCTV footage of the alleged incident, JazziQ has appealed that Ngcebo considers the implications that her accusations will have both on his career as well as his family.
Failure to withdraw her remarks would result in legal action being taken against her.
