The 5th edition of the Cotton Festival is back with #VoteCottonFest as the theme, it will be hosted in Old Station in Newtown on the 6th of April.
The Cotton Fest is a celebration of the new wave in youth culture which collaborates across music, fashion, lifestyle and sports and culture. It was created by the late Soth African music icon Rikhado Makhado popularly known as Riky Rick and the movement started in 2019.
Taking to their Instagram account, they shared the anticipated phase 1 line up which includes, A-Reece, ASVNTE, ASARATIII, Atoms Blaq + Citizen Deep, BABYLOWSK1, Chley, Dior Sanata, Eeque, Emtee, Focalistic, GGOLDIE, GOLDMAX, DJ Harvey, Horid The Messiah, LEEMCKRAZY, LILNOSEBLEEDD, Maglera Doe Boy, Major League DJZ, MajorSteez, Mellow & Sleazy, K1LLBRADY, Kane Keid, KINDLYNXSH, Kmat, Qwellers, Scumie, Sinnamatic, Sjava, Success, TMAN Xpress, DJ Tshegu, Yumbs, DJ Yuri, Zee Nxumalo, DJ Zinhle and many more.

In a different post, they announced that they were to host the Open Mic Finale, “The finest talents South Africa has to offer across three dynamic stages.”

- Cape Town, The Waiting Room: March 14th from 18h00 till 21h00
- Durban, Drop Kick Murphy: March 15th from 18h00 till 21h00
- Johannesburg, Flame Studio, Blue Room Con Hill: March 16th from 17h00 till 20h00
Winners for all three cities will be announced on our social media platforms on the 17th of March.
