Rapper and host of Uyajola 9/9 Molemo Katleho Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub, expressed gratitude in the form of an Instagram post to all those who have supported him throughout the years.
Jub Jub faced many public trials and tribulations over the years. In 2012, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he was involved in a drag race accident near a school that claimed the lives of four children. After serving five years of his sentence, the star was released on parole.
In a past interview with TshisaLIVE, Jub Jub said he found it difficult to face the press after the accident. “I didn’t want to come back on TV or music … I just wanted to stay locked up at home and, ’cause I didn’t know how people were going to look at me … I’m just grateful that South Africans are a forgiving nation.”
The rapper has continued to show his gratitude.
In a recent Instagram post, Jub Jub wrote, “I’m so grateful for the achievements I have accomplished in thus far. The greatest blessing was to be able to bless and uplift others in my circle. As black people, we say izandla ziya gezana Umuntu umuntu nga bantu. Wake up every morning and try to make a difference in someone’s life they may not be watching, but God is counting.”
The TV host continued, “I am proud of you zinja zam. Now please remain humble and never think for a day you have made it and are above anyone else, respect the industry, shine your light to others who want to be like you and start by passing on the baton. ‘What have you done?’ Jub can…You can.”
