Mzansi’ favourite pop singer Tyla has done an outstanding job in flying the South African flag high abroad.
Her hit song Water has made her an international sensation with several leaders in the entertainment industry praising her wonderful vocal abilities and fantastic dance abilities, which has many dancing along.
More recently it was the world-renowned singer and record producer Justin Timberlake who made it known that he too, is a Tyla fan. The singer impressed many fans when he appeared at an African American event held in Memphis.
Here, the 42-year-old entertained the crowd by singing his own rendition of Water, while the entire crowd participated in a singalong.

The event which celebrates African American culture provided an excellent setting for Justin’s performance, however, social media was filled with mixed reactions when a short snippet of the video began circulating on X.
One user wrote:
“Justin Timberlake performing Water by South Africa’s very own Tyla!”
“Justine Timberland preforming Water by South Africa’s very own.”
Meanwhile, another added:
“Not him trying to leach off of Tyla!”
A third user responded, saying:
“He is not performing Water by Tyla. He is dancing to it. He does not have her sex appeal and could only wish to perform her song.”
The 21-year-old Tyla has been making enormous strides in the United States, last year she became the youngest South African artist to make an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100.
This year she will be one of two South African musicians nominated for a Grammy in the category of African Music performance alongside Amapiano producer Musa Keys.
