King of amapiano DJ and record producer Kabza De Small, whose real name is Kabelo Motha sold out tickets for his first Red Bull Symphonic show in South Africa within five hours.
The renowned DJ alongside orchestra conductor Ofentse Pitse and a 33-piece Symphonic Orchestra are set to perform at the Lyric Theatre on the 8th of June. Ofentse made history as the first and youngest black South African woman to lead an all-black orchestra, Anchored Sound.
During an interview with IOL, Kabza said, “But many of my songs focus on vocals, and a lot of Amapiano is very instrumental so I think people will be familiar with it.”
“The clash of two worlds between Amapiano and Classical music will create an electrifying atmosphere in which anything is possible. It’s about breaking away from conventional limits and enabling the music to grow into something genuinely exceptional,” says Kabza to the news publication.
Kabza posted the trailer of what mzansi should expect at this performance with the caption, “For one night only! From Africa to the World. Amapiano meets the Grand Piano! The King of Amapiano @kabelomotha_ ‘s most iconic works, re-imagined by Maestra @ofentse_pitse and a full Symphonic Orchestra. Ni ready Mzansi?”
