After 11 years of radio, Khutso Theledi received her first award at the Basadi in Music Awards on Saturday, 12 August.
The South African media personality won the Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year against the likes of Lerato Kganyago and Lethabo Lejoy Mathatho.
According to Briefly, Khutso left her studies at Monash University to join Boston Media House. She then decided to pursue a degree in Radio and Sound Engineering.
During her first year of study in 2012, Khutso was given the opportunity to do a voice over for Boston Media House. This is when the radio personality piqued the interest of youth commercial radio station, YFM, according to the South African.
It wasn’t long before Khutso was asked to do a demo for a breakfast show. She began working with Gauteng’s largest youth radio station, YFM, after tremendous success.
Khutso joined Metro FM in 2022 and co-hosted the breakfast show with Mo Flava. She is now host of The Break Away with Khutso on the public broadcaster from 9 am to 12 pm.
Upon winning the award for Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year, Khutso took to Instagram to express gratitude to everyone who supported her, including her late father.
“EVERYONE will know it was God! Papa, this one’s for you. Grateful Beyond Words to share that we are now the winners of the Basadi in Music 2023 Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year!”, she shares.
