A video of Jet store employees confronting and filming a lady caught stealing diapers at their shop went viral on social media, leaving social media users conflicted on how to feel about the incident.
Singer and songwriter LadyDu was one of those who were touched by the video to a point that she decided to help. After seeing the video, the uZuma Yi Star hitmaker reposted it, captioning her post:
“Please don’t get my post wrong I don’t condone theft, but if this was clothes or something that she wanted for herself I’d understand, I’d like you guys to help me locate this lady I’d like to buy her pampers for her child. It is sooo sad that we as women can humiliate each other like this. It’s tough and I’m not honestly condoning her stealing ways, but this is sooo heartbreaking.”
She then followed with a post stating that they had found the lady and would be visiting her house. She also wrote that someone should discipline the shop staff members for how they handled the matter. In the video, the shop’s employees could be heard shouting at the lady while one was taking a video, this all happening in full view of other customers.
Hey guys I found lulama and will be going to her place tomorrow she has 3 kids, currently traumatised by what happened ??????
We need to help more people I’ll be sending her details tomorrow after I meet with her. Someone needs to discipline the staff at @jet for what they did…
