It is always recommended and laudable to recharge your mind after a long year or month and start over on a new leaf.
YouTuber and content creator who was recently celebrated as he is the first South African male to reach 1M YouTube subscribers, Thulasizwe ‘Lasizwe’ Dambuza has disclosed that he is checking himself in a health wellness centre.
In a statement he released on Instagram, he said his mental health was extremely low and needed a recharge so he could show up and perform at his best.
“This is not about the burnout or being exhausted, it’s actually the opposite. This year has been wild. Awkward Dates blew up in ways I never imagined, but with all those heights, there’s been heavy stuff too.”
Lasizwe revealed that he struggles with imposter syndrome, and his personal life took good and bad knocks. He said it’s been a lot to carry, which led him to a realisation that he needed help to process everything.
Taking to his Instagram page to share the statement and pictures of the facility, he captioned his post: “I’ve successfully checked myself into a mental health awareness centre. It’s been a beautiful long year, time to rest, recharge and reflect,” he noted.
Furthermore, he thanked his siblings for taking him to the centre and holding his hand while he checked himself in and revealed that his team would take care of his socials because the show must go on, as phones are confiscated in the facility.
