South African producer and composer Lebohang Morake, better known as Lebo M, has been ordered to return his American passport.
Over the years, the South African celebrity has achieved a commendable amount of success. His skill also earned him an American passport and a Green Card in the field of entertainment arts, however, the American government has allegedly revoked his US passport, ZiMoja reported.
A US passports can be revoked for several reasons, including tax default, because they were acquired illegally, or because the holder committed fraud.
The American government allegedly wrote to The Lion King star requesting that he return the passport and any other official paperwork, according to the publication mentioned above.
The publication further reported that Lebo’s Green Card and passport were reportedly revoked by the US Consulate General due to debt.
The letter which was sent to him on the 11th of July, 2023 reads as follow:
“The US passport remains the property of the US Government and must be surrendered upon demand. You are requested to immediately return US passport number **** along with any other valid US passports issued to you, to the bearer of the letter. Any further use of a US passport is a felony,” read the letter which has been seen by the above mentioned publication.
According to reports, Lebo has allegedly sold all of his shares in The Lion King production firm, which has the rights to his music library and other rights, for an estimated R230 million before taxes in both America and South Africa.
