The details for comedian and actress Lebohang ‘Lettie’ Mpyana’s memorial service have been announced to the public.
The beloved Lettie portrayed the role of Khelina on the show DiepCity, and was also well-known for her social media skits as Queen Skwatakwata.
A statement shared by Lettie’s family spokesperson, T Mpyana, confirmed that the DiepCity star died on 1 November as a result of a short illness. “We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers in this time of bereavement. Memorial service and funeral details will follow,” read a portion of the statement.
Production company Black Brain Pictures had also released a statement in remembrance of Lettie.
“With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Lebohang Mpyana, who portrayed the iconic role of ‘Khelina’ in our beloved show. In the Black Brain family, we stand together in profound sadness and the loss we feel is indescribable. Today, we honor her memory and the incredible impact she had on all of us.”

The family have since shared that her memorial service will take place at Library Gardens Auditorium in Polokwane on 8 November at 13h00 and will be live-streamed on the marketing agency Mahuma Group’s Facebook account.
“Through her art, she touched many souls and left an ineffaceable mark. Her creativity will live on in the beauty she left behind. Let’s come together to commemorate a life well lived. Kindly note that the venue has limited seating capacity. The service will be streamed live through @mahumagroupofficial facebook account,” read a post on Lettie’s Instagram page.

According to TshisaLIVE, there will be another memorial service on the same day starting from 10h00 to 13h00 at the Joburg Theatre.
The actress will reportedly be laid to rest on Saturday.
