Miss SA Top 12 finalist Lebohang Raputsoe was the first contestant to be eliminated on reality show Crown Chasers.
In the first episode of Crown Chasers, which aired on Saturday, viewers had the opportunity to meet the finalists competing for the title of Miss South Africa 2023 and learn why one of these talented women should take the crown.
The finalists were presented with their official sashes by series host Miss South Africa and Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi and current Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri.
The women competed in a challenge involving a networking event as well as their first official shoot. Their performances were evaluated by judges Bonang Matheba and Leandie du Randt, and guest judge Dr Tamaryn Green Nxumalo. At the end of the episode, Lebohang was eliminated and left the show.
“Crown Chasers was a roller coaster of emotions; intimidating, fun, sad, exhausting and liberating. The crew was amazing to work with, and while some of the content was difficult to film, it helped strengthen my character,” Lebohang revealed.
When asked if she would ever do it all over again, Lebohang said: “At first, I thought not. The disappointment that came with knowing I was eliminated was hard. However, after careful thought, I can say that I am content with ‘God’s timing’. I see how the journey has strengthened my character, and yes, I would do it all over again. The whole experience has taught me that I am extremely resilient and firm in my character as I do not allow any situation or circumstance to break or alter the person I am.”
The next episode of Crown Chasers will be broadcast on Sunday, 16 July at 16h00 on SABC3.
