Former Soweto Gospel Choir singer, Lehakoe Tlali seems to have reached the light at the end of her dark tunnel, this is after she won her battle with alcohol and marijuana addiction.
The songbird has undergone her six-week rehabilitation journey after her videos circulated on socials, depicting her dire situation when she heavily depended on alcohol.
In an interview with Daily Sun, Lehakoe said, “I’m back home from rehab, ready to work and sing again. I’m preparing a gospel show in my hometown. It was wonderful to return home to a warm welcome. I’ve left the life of alcohol behind and feel at peace,” she said.
According to the publication, Lehakoe’s alcohol and marijuana addictions were also made worse by severe depression that was caused by unpaid royalties from her popular Sotho song, Modimo Reboka Wena, which was released in 2006.
In a video shared by the publication on X (formerly Twitter) where Lehakoe shared her experience while in rehab and how she will pick her life up after her addiction.
