South African actor Lemogang Tsipa, best known for portraying the role of Shaka on Shaka iLembe star, is excited as he is set to launch his music career.
The actor, who has been a drummer from a young age, said he was ready to expand his brand as a performing artist.
In an interview with DJ Fresh the actor revealed that he will be taking up space in the music industry.
“I’m moving into music. I’ve been a drummer longer than I’ve been an actor. I’m moving into the music space as a performing artist so people can expect that. I’m not leaving acting,” he said.
He’s promised to make a range of music, dabbling in genres including maskandi, amapiano and afro beats, among others.
“I’m making a song for everybody, so there’s no excuse. Everybody should have one of my songs on their playlist at some point.”
Speaking to the BubblegumClub, Lemogang said he had already recorded 100 songs and couldn’t wait for people to hear them.
“I’ve got a lot of music I’ve been working on. A lot of people don’t know I’ve been a musician longer than I’ve been an actor. Hopefully, I will be able to do both and balance both. There are great examples of people who have done it successfully. I see myself being able to do it. I’m passionate about both.”
The actor has shared a soundcloud link on his Instagram bio to his old music from two years ago for his fans to enjoy while they wait in anticipation for his new body of work.
