One of South Africa’s favourite comedians Leon Schuster has recently shared a message of gratitude after recently celebrating his 73rd birthday.
Taking to Facebook Leon shared a heart-warming post thanking those who took the time to wish him, as well as providing an update on his health.
“Yesterday we had such a blessed and wonderful day. My kids came to fetch me along with some of their friends. We watched movies and had a good time… until my back started to ache and I needed to come and lay again.
“Blessed to see how many people still care, so thank you for all my birthday wishes.”
The last year has been a difficult one for the comedic actor after he previously suffered a series of setbacks caused by his back injuries.
Earlier this year the bed bound actor spoke to lifestyle magazine, YOU, where he revealed that he was expected to enter the operation room for yet another time and but that he feared the worst.
The news sent came as a shock to many who previously were unaware of his current state.
Others meanwhile, got on the wrong side of the Mr Bones actor, this comes after the emergence of false news on social media platforms claiming that Leon had passed away.
In a recent Facebook posts, he addressed the culprits writing:
“I hear I’m ‘dead’ again. What crazy people posts such things? I will kick him where he will never be able to have children again. It’s not nice when people call you and say ‘I’m so happy to hear you voice.’
“Thank you dear Jesus that my life is in your hands!” he ended.
Leon is expected to undergo an operation, but before then he needs to lose at least 15kgs to avoid further complications during the procedure.
