For media personality Lerato Kganyago, what was once believed to be a joke has now turned into a matter of concern. A social media user named Siyabonga Kopele publicly claimed that the star prohibited him from seeing their “child,” something Lerato fervently denies.
On X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter), Lerato shared that the messages from Siyabonga regarding their supposed child had been going on for a year, and she had endured all sorts of harassment.
Recently, Siyabonga shared a video formally introducing himself and referred to himself as an “unemployed citizen of South Africa” who earns a government grant of R350 per month.
“I have a child I need to see, and they are prohibiting me from seeing the child … I need help from anyone. I know they know me, the media knows me,” he stated.
“I’ve been on TV, and I want them to say they don’t know me. I want them to say it’s not my child, I want them to say it’s not my house, and I want her to say it’s not my stuff. Let’s prove it. So, I’m asking for assistance from anyone and everyone who knows the story about me and Lerato Kganyago.”
Siyabonga also alleged that business mogul Patrice Motsepe and the Governor of the South African Reserve Bank, Lesetja Kganyago, tried to bribe people to keep him quiet on the matter.
“I just want my life back and the truth to come out,” he added.
Responding to the video addressed to her, Lerato firmly stated, “I don’t know YOU and I don’t have children with you OR ANYONE. If anyone knows this gentleman, please DM me. I’ve been harassed on my phones, at work, and through my colleagues. I know this is a serious problem, and I PRAY your family sees this and assists you!”

Commenting on one of Lerato’s posts, a user named @itsfuego_ claimed that Siyabonga is his brother who “has mental issues.”
He added, “It seems like a family we didn’t notice and even see this happening. Please contact me so we can sort this out immediately.”
FINALLY! Thank you! Please DM your numbers. I’ve followed you. https://t.co/fKSuQXhaPW
