Upcoming DJ, Thato Sikwane Jr is having his sights set on making big strides in the music industry as he takes the leap of faith by stepping into his father’s shoes by getting into the entertainment industry as a DJ.
The 21-year-old is the proud son of well-known DJ and radio present Thato Sikwane also known as DJ Fresh.
In conversation with entertainment publication IOL, the ambitious youngster whose stage name is YBF (Y.ourBoyFrxsh) says that he fell in love with the art from a young age while roaming around as his dad performed at gigs.
“It was my first event, the U-Party social event, that exposed me to this experience of a crowd, and by watching my dad live out my newly found dream, the desire to be in the music space ignited,” said the 21-year-old.

Meanwhile he added that making the dream a reality required some hard work and effort from his side as well, which is why he spent three months perfecting his art before showing off some skills to his father.
He revealed that even though it was not the most perfect, it made papa Fresh smile.
Thato Jr. says that his goal is not to be like is dad, but to create chart topping music that will get him the recognition for impact and change that he will bring in his generation – just like his dad.
Although Junior has his sights firmly set on the future, his mother Thabiso is embracing the family dynamic that she shares with now ex-husband DJ Fresh.

In a recent post she shared that the pair have good relationship and raised their children well despite their divorce.
“By His grace, we’ve been able to raise four amazing children and it’s such a blessing that even after our divorce we are parenting. We are both present in our children’s lives.”
