On Saturday the “Head boys” of South African sport will have a chance of writing their names in the history books when they take on the old foe, New Zealand’s All blacks.
The men in green and gold and their counter parts in black have a long history that dates all the way back to 1921. Since then, the two rugby giants have played against one another more than 105 times over the years.
Despite their rich rugby history, this coming Saturday will only be the second time they face one another in a rugby world cup final – the first time being in 1995 when Francois Pienaar captained the team to their famous victory to claim the trophy.

While this Saturday could be a chance for fans to witness a modern repeat of that spectacle, what has many South Africans talking is the price of the tickets to watch the game live in France.
A picture circulating on social media shows that if you are planning on watch the game live at the Stade de France, you could fork out as much as R169 880,00!
While it has not yet been confirmed how accurate or reliable the information provided on the graphic image is, one cannot deny how scary the cost of attending the event can be.
The prices have been divided into various categories depending on one’s seating preference.
These are the prices per person:
Category 4/3: Behind Goals Upper/Middle – R26 950.00
Category 2: Upper/Corner level – R 28 500.00
Category 2: Lower – R42 650.00
Category 1: Upper Tier – R 46 400.00
Category 1: Lower Tier – R 48 850.00
Category 1: Long side Lower Central Blocks – R 97 550.00
Category 1: Blocks S14 – R169 880.00
Meanwhile in another document found on what could be an unofficial “rugby world cup” website, the cost differ significantly to the one circulating on social media – meanwhile, it may still not be as cheap for certain people either.
For a category 4 ticket you could pay just under R2000 p.p, while the most expensive ticket costs R18 956,97 for a seat in the grand finale of the competition.
While the magnitude of the event promises to be spectacular, could the cost of these tickets be fair or is it just ludicrous?
