Only a few hours after Thando Thabethe’s court records regarding a temporary restraining/protection order against him were made public, Lunga Shabalala appears to have responded.
Following their breakup in October 2022, the actor is said to be accused of “harassing,” “following,” and “threatening” the 947 presenter.
The actor is said to have allegedly broken into Thando’s home early this year, prompting Thando to say she “feared” for her safety.
The former Selimanthunzi presenter reacted took to his Instagram timeline to react to the alleged claims made by 957 FM presenter.
Lunga shared a cryptic quote. It read: “The truth never gets old.”
Even though no longer together, Thando and Lunga shot scenes for her BET Africa reality series Unstoppable Thabooty, as it was shot last year.
According to City Press, Thando detailed various concerning incidents in the court document seen by the publication.
Thando said: “The urgency of obtaining this order today is that he was threatening to prohibit one of my TV shows from airing. I have received correspondence from his attorneys.
“I fear for my safety as I do not know how he will react once the show is aired. He is constantly stalking and harassing me, and I don’t want the situation to escalate.”
The 947 presenter went on to list a number of troubling events involving Lunga Shabalala, in the court order seen by the publication mentioned above:
“March 3, 2023: Mr Shabalala could not reach me and therefore tailgated into my complex under the guise of fetching his belongings. Upon realising I was not home, he called my best friend numerous times and went on to ask her for the location of my work engagement.”
“May 5: Mr Shabalala arrived at my place of work; followed me to my car.”
“May 12: Mr Shabalala once again followed me, from work to a nearby restaurant.”
“On another occasion, I went to Durban. He got upset, feeling he needed to know who I was travelling with.”
