Makhadzi’s music lovers waited in anticipation for the singer’s new album Mbofholowa which was set to drop at midnight but couldn’t, due to digital glitches. The Ghanama hit maker had promised her music lovers what she deems as the best work of her singing career.
Mbofholowa is going to be an album that will tick many firsts for the Limpopo born artist. It is the first album Makhadzi has done after leaving her former record label Open Mic, and a first album to come out of her new record label Makhadzi entertainment. Boasting hit singles such as Dear Ex and Movie, Makhadzi’s Mbofholowa album is worth waiting for.
After asking her fans to stream the album on all streaming platforms last night, Makhadzi sent out a new statement this morning apologising, adding that “delays from other stakeholders and digital glitches” are what led to the album not being released today.
She sent out a statement that reads:
“Hi everyone, I know it’s frustrating and I am aware that you guys waited all night for the album but due to delays from other stakeholders and digital glitches the album is not available on all platforms. Please do accept my apology. My song with Kabza de Small, Mawhoo, Sino Msolo and Azana named Marotho is available on YouTube. We created an album that allows you to listen to it anywhere and anytime.”
The 27-year-old record label owner continued:
“Whether you’re driving to work on a Monday morning there are songs for you sponsored by artists like Dj Maphorisa and Master KG… whether we’re at a taxi rank or you’re in a tavern ko lacantina and he o onyaka go nkge likwafa go thunye lerule I got you ka likompo. I went back to my roots and also appreciated the new trends. I strive in the unity of Africa, so my international features also are. I am an independent woman by the way, own boss. #Mbofholowo is the Album it thinks it is and I cannot wait to dance and enjoy it with you.”
