After missing a show on 30 April at the White Lifestyle in Kempton Park where organisers paid her R80 000, Makhadzi has decided to pay them back with a free show in September.

ZiMoja reveals that Makhadzi will be performing at The Exclusive White Spring Picnic on 2 September at the Dries Niemandt Park in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.

The above mentioned publication states the singer is allegedly unable to pay back the money now. Hence, the decision to opt for a free show. This all occurred around the time Makhadzi left her former record label, Open Mic Productions, after claiming there is still money owed to her.

The publication also states that the event organisers took Makhadzi to their lawyers and demanded she pay the money back after pulling a no-show. A source told the publication, “After she got the letter of demand from organisers, she told them that she won’t be able to pay as things are not looking good for her financially at the moment.”

Another source close to Makhadzi states that the Dear EX (Zwininakele) songstress wanted to make payment arrangements. However, her request was denied. “That is when the idea to perform for free at an upcoming event came about.”

The publication also reveals that Makhadzi will not be featured in the poster. Says the source, “The organisers have learnt their lessons, they won’t take that chance again as last time things almost became ugly when fans started demanding their money after she lied and kept saying she is about five minutes away. This time she has been asked to commit herself in writing and it must be signed by her legal representatives, then they will consider including her in their posters.”

ZiMoja also made contact with event organiser Grego Villa. However, he said he was not at liberty to comment. “I don’t discuss my business with the media, but also this is a legal matter. You can ask whoever told you to comment.”

ZiMoja tried calling Makhadzi too. Although her phone rang unanswered, her manager Lucky Tshilimandila said they were considering paying back the organisers their money, as her management was not aware of the arrangement.
