Singer and record label owner Makhadzi shared on her social media how a UK promoter sabotaged her stage performance time allowing renowned singer Winky D to stay on stage longer than his allocated time.
Clearly loved by many, Winky D is said to usually perform last when booked to perform with other artists as his crowd never wants him to go off stage.
The multi award winning Makhadzi could only perform for 20minutes as there was only 40 minutes left before the venue closed when Winky D finished. A considerate Makhadzi still shared the 40 minutes between her and J Prayz who was still waiting to perform after Makhadzi.
After performing the two songs Makhadzi stopped the DJ and announced on stage that she was done with her performance, adding:
“They said because I’m not a Zimbabwean I can’t take time on stage. They said they are closing now. Unfortunately, they said I must leave half the stage because I am not a Zimbabwean, thank you guys, I love you. ”

X users commented on the subject with many people highlighting that the treatment was unfair but the promoters look at who the crowd is.
User @Ralph_Nzuza shared:
“All these SA artists who perform in UK and Ireland are always booked by Zim promoters and the audience is 98% Zimbabweans. In case you don’t know international gigs, they mean us.”

Makhadzi later sent out a video explaining what transpired adding that the promoter also pushed her manager and her DJ off, telling her DJ who was trying to connect his equipment for their performance ‘to go off” as he was disturbing Winky D.
