South African sports superfan Joy Chauke famously known as Mama Joy attended the Gauteng Sport’s Awards recently, where event host and comedian Thapelo “Shampoonaiza” Tips asked her about finding love.
A product of the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, the Gauteng Sports Awards are created to celebrate excellence in sport and inspire the youth to reach for their dreams.
Rocking a bright long dress which features colours of our national flag, Mama Joy shared a video where the comedian teased her about love.
On her visit to Paris to watch the Rugby World Cup which ended with our Springboks being crowned world champions for the fourth time, Mama Joy also found love in the arms of a French man.
In a 1 minute 43 seconds video Shampoonaiza went to Mama Joy who was sitting in the crowd and greeted her. He then teased her saying:
“They say Shangaan siLungu (Shangaan “Xitsonga” is English) wena, you go to France and come back with a man.”
Mama Joy responded in laughter adding:
“It’s a city of love, why not.”
The comedian then commented adding that the Royal AM number one fan went and fetched a white man and will be speaking English all the way.
To which the former Orlando Pirates number one fan responded:
Shangaan (Xitsonga) is English.
The comedian also commented that Mama Joy represented Mzansi globally, also jokingly saying she will buy her something as she’s got a white man with money.
Joy also spoke of her experience in a long-haul flight, saying she was in a flight for ten hours and that it was nice.
