Mzansi can look forward to another pageant that will have one South African woman represent the country at this year’s Miss World. Entrepreneur Carol Bouwer’s Miss World South Africa organisation introduced the 12 ladies (whose ages range from 17 to 26) in the running to become the next Miss World SA representative.
According to The South African, someone who has placed in the Top 3 at the Miss SA pageant would usually represent the country at the international pageant show. However, because the Miss SA Organisation did not renew its license with Miss World, there will be a separate pageant to find a representative.
The Top 12 finalists are set to contend for the Miss World SA crown in October with the winner jetting off to India on 9 December for the 71st Miss World event, reports The Citizen.
Says Carol, the licence holder of the Miss World South Africa pageant, “Our selection process included interviews to learn more about their personalities, passion for charity, and understanding of the Miss World pageant, among other things.”
Below are the 12 contestants who stand a chance to represent South Africa on the international stage.
