Although SABC Group Executive Nada Wotshela boasts of hosting a successful showing last year, some users have voiced concern about the decline in the quality of the award shows that have been given to the people of South Africa to watch. The MMAs once boasted of being one of the most exciting shows that mzansi looked forward to, however, as of late, the hype seems to be dying down with each year that passes.

With amapiano sensations Kabza de Small and Mthunzi emerging as the biggest winners at last year’s edition, it will be interesting to see who will be the talk of the town at this year’s edition, as this past year has seen an exponential rise and globalisation of local genres and artists.
