South African media personality Minnie Dlamini, recently took to social media to commemorate a milestone in her family: her parents’ 35th wedding anniversary.
In an emotional post, she shared her heartfelt memories, celebrating the love and joy her parents have brought into her life, and the lives of her siblings.
In her Instagram post she wrote, “Today, 35 years ago today, my parents said ‘I do’ HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Mummy & Daddy.”
Minnie recollected her childhood, recalling how her parents would play their wedding song loudly on the hi-fi system. “We grew up listening to this song, and they would blast it on the hi-fi system, and we would dance around the living room and watch them dance to the song,” she shared.
Minnie expressed deep gratitude for the love that surrounded her family, “Thank you for surrounding our childhood with love and priceless memories. My brothers and I grew up in a loving home, full of fun and laughter. No matter what our financial situation was, good or bad, we always had each other!”
She also fondly remembered the family weekends filled with games, swimming, food and movies, stating the importance of those shared moments. “From family weekends with games, swimming, food and movies, thank you for a beautiful life,” she wrote.
Minnie also acknowledged the significance of the day to her late brother and shared a reminder of how blessed they were to have such loving parents.
