During an interview with DJ Fresh on his new podcast, Waw! What A Week, Minnie Dlamini shared her emotions on the struggles of being single-parenting and her highly publicised divorce.

Minnie Dlamini fell deeply in love with former footballer and producer Quinton Jones after divorcing soccer player Itumeleng Khune. They held a traditional wedding ceremony in Green Hills, Durban North on 8 July 2017, and on 16 September , the couple held a highly publicised white wedding, according to Zalebs.

Unfortunately, the pair surprised Mzansi when they announced their separation after four years of marriage and one baby boy in the picture. According to Kaya FM, Dlamini was accused of having an affair with a businessman named Edwin Sodi, but she denied the claims. The stunning TV personality has previously said that going through a divorce had a negative impact on her and that she is just now beginning to regain her former self, according to the South African.

Having recently been interviewed by DJ Fresh, the actress spoke about her role as Lu on the The Honeymoon and how it brought back some old memories she felt during her marriage. Minnie said by the time she started playing Lu, her marriage was already over, which is why she relates to the character so strongly.

“A lot of the emotions Lu was going through in the film, I could relate to. Some did make me feel some kind of way. I kind of feel like Lu was a bit of therapy for me because she went through a really cool journey of finding herself in this film and that’s kind of where I am now,” she said.

Minnie further opened up about how challenging and rewarding it can be being a single parent.

“It’s even more difficult doing it alone, And I think for me, it’s just shout out to single parents everywhere. I don’t think I’ve ever been more insecure or questioned myself more than I do right now. But I also feel like God gave him to me for a reason. Sometimes I just got to trust my gut and raise him in a way that I was raised because I think my parents did pretty good,” she said.
