Miss South Africa (Miss SA) viewers have accused the pageant’s organisers of “favouriting” Top 10 finalist Natasha Joubert.
According to the South African, some viewers have even gone as far as to say that show is rigged.
These “accusations” came about following Natasha Joubert being crown the winner of Miss SA reality TV show, Crown Chasers.
During her time on the reality TV show, she won three consecutive episodes through her sheer determination and competitiveness.
In 2020, Natasha placed as second-runner-up to winner Shudu Musida. In May 2021, Natasha appeared at the Miss Universe pageant on behalf of the pageant.
“Natasha wanted to enter again,” pageant official Janine Walker told the South African, “and Miss South Africa Organisation rules allow her participation.”
Applicants who have placed as finalists in prior competitions may enter again, according to the pageant FAQ and eligibility requirements. It does, however, state that “the applicant may not have placed as a runner-up within the two preceding pageant years, nor have previously held the title of Miss South Africa.”
Many Miss South Africa fans welcomed Natasha’s Crown Chasers victory on the pageant’s social media platforms.
Others were a bit skeptical.

Some viewers commented expressing their objection.
@releh_legodi: “I said this again. I will repeat it. If you want to give her the crown do so and stop wasting everyone’s time because we know who was better, and its definitely not Natasha”
@americankendoll: “Y’all have to stop with the favoritism with this woman. It’s getting ridiculous at this point!”
