The lineup for the music festival, Rocking The Daisies, was recently announced, and it is safe to say that the news received mixed reactions from social media users.
The festival was initially scheduled for October but was rescheduled to take place from 17 to 19 November as a result of the devastating floods and unprecedented weather conditions in the Western Cape.
With the event now in full swing, festival goers in Cape Town will be able to enjoy the headlining acts, American rapper J.I.D and British rapper Stormzy on Friday, 17 November and Saturday, 18 November, respectively. On Sunday, 19 November, Stormzy will also headline the Johannesburg leg of the festival. If that is not enough, there will also be a Savanna Beach Club takeover on the day.
Taking to Instagram to share the rest of the acts, the Rocking The Daisies account wrote, “Besties, the weekend is upon us and we’re ready to ROCK. Cape Town, we are INSIDE all weekend with international favesss and local legends! ⭐️ Sunday ku worse! 🗣️ We’ve cooked up a golden day of golden acts for the city of gold… swipe for the Jozi line-up! 🏟️.”

Upon seeing the lineup, a few social media users expressed their excitement:
“Line up is crazy😭‼️”
“It’s hectic now 🔥🔥.”
“The excitement is KICKING IN🥵🥵🥵🥵.”
While others expressed disappointment:
“The Joburg lineup is kinda sad looking. I’m sure everyone in CPT will have fun though. As for us…”
“What did JHB ever do to you?😔.”
“This can’t be the final line up for JHB.”
Many also wondered about the omission of amapiano producer Tyler ICU and Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, who were previously added to the list of musical talents.
