TV channel Moja Love has recently made it clear that the withdrawal of charges against TV presenter and musician, Molemo Maarohanye better known as Jub Jub, does not affect their working relationship.
This is after the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) acquitted Jub Jub from criminal charges that were laid against him; including rape, attempted murder and assault.
Speaking to The Citizen, Moja Love’s spokesperson, Nonzwakazi Cekete said, “The verdict does not change any working relationship with Jub Jub. The matter had no impact on the channel.
“The channel has always been very clear on its respect of the rule of law and court processes. That is why the channel was at the time unable to provide any comments due to the matter being subject to court process,” said Nonzwakazi.
In a statement, the NPA said the charges of rape, attempted murder and assault against Molemo stem from a complaint by Jub Jub’s ex-girlfriend, who laid a rape charge in February 2022 against him, alleging that the offences occurred between 2006 and 2009.
When the charges were initially laid against Jub Jub in July last year, the channel issued a statement that said, “The information at our disposal is that Jub Jub handed himself over to the police earlier today and he is now out on bail. The channel will monitor the progress in this matter and will allow the law to take its course.”
Taking to his Instagram page to share the news of the withdrawal of his case, the Ndikhokhele hitmaker captioned the post, “God is the Alpha and Omega, and the omnipotent.”
