Deejay and producer Bongani Mohosana, professionally known as Mörda, along with singer Brenden Praise are adding some signature South African sounds to the soundtrack of the international, critically acclaimed remake of the movie, The Color Purple.
Starring Hollywood A-listers such as award-winning singers Halle Bailey, Fantasia Barrino, H.E.R., and Ciara, and award-winning actresses Taraji P. Henson and Danielle Brooks, The Color Purple is a musical adaptation of 1983 Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker’s novel. It tells the story of love and resilience and of one woman’s journey to independence.
Mörda and Brenden are credited as contributors on the remix of American actress and singer Tamela Mann’s song, Mysterious Ways, for the film.
Both artists took to Instagram to share their latest international achievement.
Mörda shared, “What an honour and privilege it is to be part of The Colour Purple movie. Contributing musically to a film is a dream come true, contributing to a film as huge as The Colour Purple is mind blowing. Thank you The Colour Purple for giving me that. I must thank @gamma, ASANTE MUSIC and all that helped make this happen. Brenden Praise and I are very excited to be part of a REMIX that already sounded so amazing.”
