Cape Town-based DJ and record producer Simphiwe Sihawu popularly known as Mr Thela signs a new deal with Universal Music Group (UMG).
Mr Thela is one of the most prominent DJs in Cape Town, before signing with UMG – the world’s leading music company – he was signed under the Shaya Records which is based in Cape Town Khayelitsha.
He recently released his most anticipated album, Tronics Land Series 2 which was received well by his fans and supporters.
Taking to Instagram, the DJ shared a video of his trip to Johannesburg when he went to meet his new record label. In his caption, he wrote, “Today has been a really amazing day. To know that all the years of hard work and sleepless nights, pushing hard are finally paying off.”
“I’m still in disbelief that my work has reached spaces I couldn’t have imagined. Today I signed a deal with Universal Music Group and I’m really excited for the future,” he concluded his caption.
