The Africa Cup of Nations, shortened as AFCON, is the ultimate competition for African footballing nations to showcase their skills and compete for the coveted title of being crowned the best team on the continent.
Media giant MultiChoice has secured broadcasting rights for this spectacle and will be airing all 52 games on their sports channel, SuperSport. Football fans from all over the world will get to zone in on the live action, as it happens in Ivory Coast.
The tournament kicks off tomorrow, 13th of January, 2024, with the final game taking place on the 11th of February. In a statement released by the broadcasting house, SuperSport CEO, Rendani Ramuvha, was quoted saying, “We are delighted to be able to showcase the best of African football live to our viewers.”
New World TV’s managing director Nimonka Kolani said, “By securing the rights to CAN [another shortening of Africa Cup of Nations] 2023 under the leadership of Dr. Patrice Motsepe, SuperSport and NWTV prove that nothing is more important than the happiness of Africans who wish to follow the exploits of their favourite team during the biggest football competition in Africa.”
